Trip to Peru

LIMA

Our Trip to Peru started in the capital Lima. These shots were taken at a park called "Lovers Park." There are very pretty mosaics that created beautiful designs and had love quotes as well.

NAZCA

A part of our trip was seeing the mysterious Nazca line drawings. These are HUGE line drawings in the desert sand that cannot be seen from the ground. They are too big. They are best seen from the sky. Below are several of the10 Nazca line drawings. The guide we had explained that he thought they were ways the ancient people used to petition the gods for rain and fertility.

CUZCO

This is the city of Cuzco. It was the heart of the Inca Empire and, in itself, has a beauty to it. It is also 11,000 ft above sea level, and I ended up with a really bad case of altitude sickness. However, I would not change going to this city for anything.

MACHU PICHU

Machu Pichu is really indescribable. It was not, for me, a spirtual experiance as I have heard other people talk about. It was more AWE-inspiring that such an ancient civilization could create this amazing place without the modern tools we use today. It was very beautiful.

Brides and Babies

This was a whirled wind weekend for Stephen and I. We arrived in Ohio on Thursday and had my cousin, Melissa's, wedding on Friday. Followed by my other cousin, Kelly's, and my sister's Bridal and baby shower on Saturday. In between all this I squeezed in some time to celebrate Stephen's 30th birthday. It was a wonderful and busy time.

Kelly ( another cousin) and her sister Erin were the maids of honor for Mel's wedding. They gave a beautiful speech that my sisters and I could relate to about the closeness of sisters.

The rest are pictures from the wedding and reception.

After the wedding we were getting ready for the bridal and baby shower as well as celebrating the new arrival in our family. This is Zolo metting his Great grandmother for the first time, as well as mom and dad's dog Cheannye.

Kelly the Bride ( in August)

Growing up my sisters and I use to watch the old Disney cartoon, "a Cowboy". One of the cartoons was about a baby boy who had a dream about being a cowboy. My dad use to sing this song to us and so Lar and I used the lyrics and bought the different iteams a cowboy would need and gave them to "cowboy" Zolo. Here is Zolo were his hat and a picture of the rocking horse I painted for him.

Cherry Blossom

It is that time of year again. It is the Cherry Blossom Festival and one that had me running in front of a Parade. Yes! Stephen and I did not plan so well and when we were getting ready to cross the street the parade was coming. Stephen said, Go! and then RAN! So like the dutiful and obedient wife that I am I RAN! I was laughing all the way. Walking around the the cherry blossoms were beautiful! We meet up with Natalie for a little bit and then continued our walk were I met THREE boxers and got to pet them all. You can't really see it in the pictures but it was a VERY windy day so the cherry blossom fleece I am wearing was in need. It was a great day and the pictures, I hope, catch the beauty.

The trees below are the original cherry blossoms we got from Japan.

I have never seen the tidal basin water so high and so chopping.
